Don’t spin your title with different keywords

{lang: 'ar'}

Web-crawler !!You shouldn’t be surprised if seeing these kind of page title format in SERP:

Keyword 1 – Keyword 2 – Keyword 3

And yeah, it’s something that ‘recommended by SEO agencies.’   It’s totally ridiculous, at least the search engine spiders do not understand which primary keywordyou are targeting.   The searchers will be confused too, and not willing to click your results on SERP.    Even the recent reports say G may not display the page titles that you are targeting, unless they believe you will get more clicks when sticking with your page title.   Hence it’s worthwhile to put more effort to write a decent title!

Meet The Searchers

Search queries can be grouped into three different categorizes:

  • Navigation queries – Information searchers are trying to get a specific product, official homepage or a particular menu etc.
  • Information queries – Users want to know something helpful and informative, like “10 steps to kill a person” or “Top 5 richest guy in the world” etc.
  • Action queries – Searchers are looking to take some actions, like buying a product, download a software or watch a video online etc.

Official: Google release Google +1

{lang: 'ar'}
lowercase "g"

Image via Wikipedia

Google has finally launched the Google +1 button.  Apparently many SEOs are longing for this button because G may treat it as a (strong) social signal, say facebook Likes and Shares.  Whenever Google user clicks on the +1 button, it actually means that ‘hey, that site is cool.  Highly recommended., you should check that out.”.   Very interesting to see if the new +1 button can beat the existing domination of Facebook like/share.   The button is currently available for only English searches on Google.com.

The importance of Unique Content

{lang: 'ar'}
Standing up

Which is which?

Everybody understands the importance of having unique and valuable contents, especially after the Google panda/farmer update.  For me, it sounds a bit late if you aware that only after the hit anyway.   If you hire copywriters, you should always check the copies from them and make sure they are not copying from any other sources.  I was told by an agency in Hong Kong saying that it is okay to have duplicated contents. Well, it is totally wrong.  According to the Google guidelines, duplicated content could be discounted , even if you are an affiliate of a products, the description of the products should be different from the vendors.  So, pease try to stay away from duplicate contents!    You may ask: how could we ensure that our contents are 100% unique?  You can do a quick check on copyscape.  The beauty of this tool is that it will check the uniqueness of a URL, and return a % of plagiarism warning if there’s any.  You should check each and every contents before getting them live!!   You could also copy and paste the contents to Google and run an exact search and see if there’s any duplicate results.

Visualize clickthrough with crazyegg

{lang: 'ar'}

Crazyegg is a tool that I recommended for visualizing your visitors behavior.   You could trace the every clicks your visitors make and discover how they are using your website, so as to optimize the web usability and then increase your conversions.   With crazyegg, analytics come alive by using the heatmap that shows you who’s clicking where, and understand which are the most important elements to your visitors and see how they can be enhanced.  The set up is extremely easy, what you need to do is just simply copy and paste a few lines of code (it is common for all page-tagging analytic tools  :> ) and that’s all.   The price is ridiculously low, as it costs me only $19 per month.  It is crazy, and that it is crazyegg.
