Referring to the recent Google Panda/Farmer updates, hundreds of webmasters reported that they were unfairly treated by the ranking algorithm change. The sites that I am managing got a small hit as well. The number of index pages of my sites in Google were dropped significantly, and the drop mainly hit the forum posts. The idea of the recent Google Panda update is to remove low-level content pages, which means the pages were built for Google Adsense or link building purpose, or the pages with thin content. The objective is actually cool because the recent change and the growing importance of social link signals decrease the chances of the SEO works being gamed. Back to last May, many link builders took advantage from the last mayday google caffeine update (for faster indexing + affecting long-tail keywords). People started spamming forum profiles and article portals. As a result, the recent Panda update may devalue/remove those spammy links from google index and it probably affect the linked pages. There’s always winner and lose for each change. And I am not the lucky one.
Anyway is the Panda visiting Hong Kong?
